What I’m Doing Now
I’m on a 6 month break since Feb’23. I’m taking the time off because I’m moving to Chicago in August for my MBA at Kellogg School of Management. So I want to spend the time tackling my to-read list, completing an English Channel qualifying swim and spending time with my family.
I’m four months into my sabbatical and while I initially struggled with the ‘doing nothing’ bit, I seem to have found my rhythm now. I did a 10km swim in a 25m pool and that’s the hardest thing I have probably ever done. Also since I’m in London, I’ve been going to the docklands and doing cold water swims.
I spent about a month in Rishikesh doing a 200 hour yoga teacher training course. I had to wake up at 4:30am to attend 10 hours of classes and after the 15th day I realized it was a bit too much for me and called it quits before I tore a ligament. But nonetheless, it was a really fun experience.
I finished reading:
-East of Eden by John Steinback
-Misery by Stephen King
- Verity by Colleen Hoover
I wrote a lot less than I planned to but that seems to be the story of my life. But I had a lot more fun than I expected to. So there’s that!
